Golgo Island - Shadow of the Banana tyrant
We are pleased to announce our upcoming new game and range of 28mm Pulp/B-Movie figures, Golgo Island!
Golgo Island is the result of the association of:
Monolith Designs, manufacturers of high quality resin terrain, as well as of the Graven Image and From Beyond figure ranges.
Dark Tortoise Productions, editors of the WarEngine, the universal and now open-source ruleset which originated ShockForce and GWAR, Rumble in Antarctica.
Sylvain Boudeele (of the Iron Dream Tournament committee), who designed and sculpted the figures, and tweaked the WarEngine to this new setting of character-driven adventure.
The first release should be out by the end of the year, and will include 12 fearless characters, 5 brain-eating modern zombies, and 2 multi-part hairy atomic mutant creatures, together with a set of rules using the WarEngine – and available for free from the WarEngine Wiki.

Robert Leclerc, international-class secret agent
Gunther, baseball bat-wielding maniac
Renato Ramirez, clone in fancy dress.
Thor Pasadenas, luchador (masked wrestler) with a heart of gold
The other miniatures will be moulded very soon, and include more wacky figures for some fast-paced, two-fisted, and firmly tongue-in-the-cheek action.
Sculpted by Sylvain Boudeele (with the help of a few Hasslefree bits and bobs), the figures are 28mm scale and cast in pewter with an integral base – pictured plastic bases are not included.
Though pricing is still subject to change, they should be sold by Monolith Designs in packs of 4 or 5 (depending on type and size) for £5.00 GBP.
Together with the free rules, this may be the opportunity you were looking for to give the WarEngine a try or to get into a new exciting gaming genre at an affordable price.
