Waar de meesten enkele jaren geleden nog dachten dat de LGBTQIA+ gemeenschap eindelijk de rechten hadden gekregen waar alle mensen recht op hebben, Prides hun protest-aspect niet langer nodig zouden hebben en op termijn konden vervellen tot een feest waar straight en minder straight mekaar kunnen ontmoeten, is de situatie ondertussen erg veranderd. Dit weekend, op zaterdag 28 juni 2025, trokken bijna 200.000 LGBTQIA+-personen, hun Allies en iedereen die geeft om democratische burgerrechten door de straten van Boedapest ondanks een verbod van de hoogste politieke leider, ondanks de strenge straffen die hen te wachten stonden. Overal ter wereld draaien autocratische leiders de rechten van hun burgers terug en de LGBTQIA+-groep lijdt hier enorm onder. In plaats van er enkel verdrietig om te zijn en zich erbij neer te leggen, is de gemeenschap strijdvaardig om niet enkel haar rechten, maar de rechten van alle burgers te verdedigen. The Crocodile emperor

It is our great honor to announce the arrival of his esteemed highness, the Emperor of 3D Gaming, Emperor Augustus FitzPatricus. Easily displeased by acts of folly, failed "Rout Saves", and fumbled "To-hit" rolls, countless gladiator miniatures have been sent to their doom by the heartless waggle of his thumb. This miniature was sculpted by Chris FitzPatrick way back in 2001, as a part of the first Visions in Putty sculpting project, hosted by the 1listsculpting forum. The theme was gladiators, as the movie bearing that same name had just been released in theaters and was fresh in everyone's minds. A few dozen sculptors, both amateur and professional, conspired to each sculpt a miniature on this theme and on the final date all the miniatures were revealed and the artists discussed the details of how they made their creation. Resultaten Aztek-TV tekenwedstrijd

Jullie stemmen zijn geteld. Waar de plaatsen 1 en 2 snel duidelijk waren, bezorgde de 3e plaats ons heel veel hoofdpijn. Maar liefst 4 tekeningen kregen precies evenveel punten. De redactie besloot om na te kijken hoeveel personen een stem hadden uitgebracht voor elke tekening. De uiteindelijke laureaat kreeg 166 voorkeurstemmen achter zijn naam, net iets meer dan de anderen. Miss Aztek-TV 2007 is geworden: nr. 13 Battle Rituals door Lacus De eredames zijn geworden: nr. 20 Azteekse krijgster door Syllie nr. 22 Jaguar warrior door Kocas Proficiat! Zij krijgen hun geschenkpakketten van Siemens Mobile en Dutch Filmworks spoedig thuisgestuurd. Gelukkig zijn er enkel winnaars bij Aztek-TV ! Alle andere kunstenaars worden voor hun prachtige werken beloond met ofwel een DVD van Dutch Filmworks , of een jaarabonnement op Aniway -magazine. Event - Vapeur et Contes de Fées III (2025)

On the highway to Tournai we witnessed a scene from a nightmare: a brave mother duck guided a flock of tiny, fluffy ducklings onto the highway, clearly wanting to cross while cars thundered past at +120kms/h. Nothing, no screeching monster, no hungry Orc, no demon from the fiery realms, could frighten us more than the fear of that mother duck pressing on, instead of leading her ducklings back to safety. " Why drive to Tournai, the complete other side of the country, " you ask? Because it was the 3rd edition of a humble renaissance fair who's 1st edition dates back to 2017.. and there were Orcs, monsters and demons.. Event - Pirates & steampunks in Huy/Eersel (2025)

Imagine finding pirate ships on dry land with hauls of rum barrels that need emptying. Imagine an entire Steampunk village on a beach filled with people who crave going into the water. You might think the 34° of the almost-heatwave have melted my brain, but that's exactely what last weekend was all about.. that and the Graspop Metal Meeting . In Huy was Cachez vos trésors ... Les pirates sont de retour , the only pirates-only fair in Belgium and I went for a quick drink on Friday evening..  Black Powder 's rum, great moonshine, excellent cider, delicious mead, dangerous hypocras, Celtic music and des galettes ( salty pancakes ) made a short visit a bit longer than planned.. but I did manage to make a few stills. The next morning started Fotofair in the Dutch village of Eersel .. It was a bit too early. Luckily the  The Time Travellers '  whisky-based moonshine with ginger & cinnamon awakens the brain after the first shot and get a person boosted for work. And y...

Event - Internationale carnavalsstoet Hasselt

Yes, I know: I had promised to cover only one carnaval's parade per year. But I have a great excuse: a brandnew camera fell into my lap to experiment with and I needed an event for testing. So no, it was neither the free booze, nor the happy people, nor the smoutebollen that lured me to Hasselt.. those are simply perks of working . Just to be clear: that Sony A9III is a magnificent camera with crazy specs. I will probably consider buying the 2nd or 3rd generation of its Global Shutter sensor technology, but for now it's great but not needed for what I shoot. Sports and wildlife shooters are the intended targets and they'll enjoy it greatly.  Hasselt carnaval has a very enjoyable parade wth several international participants & loads of confetti. The 2024 parcours had some very long, straight streets.. perfect to test a huge 300mm f2.8-lens. Palmares van Anima 2009

Het palmares De grote winnaar van ANIMA 2009 is ongetwijfeld de Franse kortfilm Skhizein van Jérémy Clapin. Hij wint de Grote Prijs van Anima 2009 voor de korte animatiefilm, een prijs ten bedrage van 3.000 €, geschonken door het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest, en een licentie op de professionele animatiesoftware Toon Boom. De Prijs voor de beste kortfilm ging naar Kudan van Taku Kimura (Japan). In dezelfde categorie gaf de jury drie speciale vermeldingen: Hot Dog van Bill Plympton (USA), Lies van Jonas Odell (USA) en Dinner in Lisbon van André Carrilho (Portugal). De internationale jury kende de prijs voor de beste studentenfilm toe aan Keith Reynolds Can't Make It Tonight van Felix Massie (UK). De Prijs voor de beste videoclip ging naar No Place like Home van Rosto (Pays-Bas). De Prijs voor de beste reclamefilm ging naar Tiji TV Le Voyage van Yoann Lemoine (F). De prijs voor de beste kortfilm voor jongeren ging naar Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death van Nick Park ...
