Hilarious.. and it was faster deleted than they typed it.

Embrace your inner Darkness and make it your strenght instead of your weakness

On 20 +21 December it's the 3rd Geek Village fair in 13 months and the 1st one not in Thor Central Genk. 

And YES, a spin on #theRED360 of Deep Red Noise vzw will be FREE/GRATIS/GRATUIT again. So come visit our tiny corner of the Trixxo Arena in Hasselt, and if the booth has enough room, I'll might even make some cosplay portraits again.

If you can & want to donate 1€ for your 360°-spin, that money will be used to help local stray cats. Last edition's donations helped with food, a castration, treating a hurt paw and finding a kitten a safe home.. and bonus: one stray entered my bedroom on a tuesday and simply decided to become a house cat. The following day was a Wednesday so I named him: Whisky. (Nobody should name a cat after an Addams-family member..)

Since this is a placeholder for the event, give me a few days after the event to gather my thoughts about this edition and then I'll do the "⧍▼" at the very end of this page.

As for the promised event review: 

⧍ We had all the space we needed for both the 360°videobooth + a decent photobooth. Super!
⧍ Many cosplay troops had a great time.
▼ Organizing 3 large-scale events in only 13 months with a novice team of passionate people who all have day jobs outside of event management, was probably too ambitious.

Starting a review with some words of praise seems right. Thank you Elftopia for installing huge umbrellas at the food area so people could eat without getting scorched by the sun ( and guess what; if it rains, those same umbrellas also protect cosplays and cameras ).  Thank you Elftopia for lowering the price of water during the ongoing heatwave.  Thank you Elftopia for making sure there was plenty to see, and to do, other than posing/shooting for photographers/cosplayers, or having a chat with friends, followers & acquintances.  Thank you Elftopia for an efficient, and well-controlled parking system.  Thank you Elftopia for not selling every shot of mead at 7€.  Thank you Elftopia for making the potato field behind the pink chapel finally accessable to diabled persons, and no longer a hazard for ankles. " Support your local artists ," is een uitroep die wordt gebruikt om lokale kunstenaars, musici en andere creatievelingen in een gemeenschap te ondersteunen door hun werk te kopen, tentoonstellingen bij te wonen, of op een andere manier hun zichtbaarheid en succes te vergroten. Event - Manga & Cosplay festival 2022

Let's start with the links first and then some random thoughts? There will be several sample images added to this post as the processing advances. It was during a warm November month in the Osaka -region that I finally started appreciating Autumn and the warmth of it's colours .  This year the extreme drought is giving September the first hint of those same colours. A perfect opportunity to visit the famous Japanese garden of Hasselt and reminisce about those days in Nara with the deer strolling through the parks and streets.. except in Hasselt it weren't deer posing for the cameras but cosplayers.  Yes; this was my weekend number 5 in a row with a costume event. Collab - Spaghetti westerns

Spaghetti westerns , a subgenre of western films, are distinguished from older, classic westerns by their production location, cast, and stylistic choices   They were largely produced in Europe, particularly Italy, during the 1960s and 1970s, often featuring Italian directors and casts, with a mix of American and other actors.These films are known for their low budgets, gritty realism, morally ambiguous characters ( often antiheroes ), and a more cynical, violent tone compared to the idealized American westerns featuring clean-cut, heroic cowboys. Event - Castlefest (2025)

There was an anomaly in the time-space continuum during Castlefest . We arrived -on Sunday- earlier than usual. Didn't do anything unusual. Only danced to the concert of SeeD. Drank less mead than normal. Yet still we did not manage to see the entire fair in a day. So the fabric of time must have torn or folded in some strange way, causing it to slip uncontrollably through our fingers. Even stranger: it only started raining at the moment we reached the car. That's simply uncanny!  What witchcraft have you used Castlefestians? Teach me ! My only witchcraft comes out of some soulsnatching boxes dangling by my sides.  And if you want to see the results you'll have to be patient. Event - Pirates & steampunks in Huy/Eersel (2025)

Imagine finding pirate ships on dry land with hauls of rum barrels that need emptying. Imagine an entire Steampunk village on a beach filled with people who crave going into the water. You might think the 34° of the almost-heatwave have melted my brain, but that's exactely what last weekend was all about.. that and the Graspop Metal Meeting . In Huy was Cachez vos trésors ... Les pirates sont de retour , the only pirates-only fair in Belgium and I went for a quick drink on Friday evening..  Black Powder 's rum, great moonshine, excellent cider, delicious mead, dangerous hypocras, Celtic music and des galettes ( salty pancakes ) made a short visit a bit longer than planned.. but I did manage to make a few stills. The next morning started Fotofair in the Dutch village of Eersel .. It was a bit too early. Luckily the  The Time Travellers '  whisky-based moonshine with ginger & cinnamon awakens the brain after the first shot and get a person boosted for work. And y...

Geeks & Freaks is a new brainchild from the team behind El Mundo Fantasia and loads of Halloween events. This is the 1st edition and I must admit that the foyer of MECC Maastricht is a nice location for an indoor avent. Since only 1 day has past and I haven't made a tour ( yet ), I'd better wait till Sunday evening to note down my remarks? Post-apocalyptic Tintin

Steven Spielbergs' movie about Tintin (Kuifje) isn't in cinemas yet, so if you can't wait till then to get your hands upon some very speial Tintin-stuff, then try these 28mm wargame miniatures based upon Tintin (Kuifje), Milou (Bobby,) Professeur Tournesol (Professor Zonnebloem), Dupont & Dupond (Jansen & Janssen) and the one and only Capitaine Haddock (Kapitein Haddock). Duizend bommen & granaten! The pulp adventure postapocalyptic look (the bowler hat Dupond/ts even almost steampunk-look) of the team works great & we can only hope they will survive their expedition to mutant land .
