PC Adaptation of Classic Board Game Confrontation Revealed

 
Focus Home Interactive is pleased to unveil the first images of Confrontation, the video game adaptation of the fantasy miniature wargame by Rackham. Developed exclusively for PC by Cyanide Studio (Blood Bowl & A Game of Thrones), Confrontation is an incredible real-time strategy game with the classic role playing elements that have made the series popular on a global scale.

The game is set in the fantastic and original universe of Confrontation, Aarklash. As the Age of Rag'narok is approaching, four factions are fighting for their own cause and struggling for domination over the land: the brutal Orcs of the Tree-Spirit, the ferocious Wolfen packs, the fearsome Griffon warriors or the terrifying creatures of the Scorpion.

With a core focus on strategy, Confrontation challenges players to lead a squad of elite soldiers, helping them evolve into a unit that is equal parts brain and brawn. Recruit, develop and equip your squadron and the powerful allies that fight by your side; establish new strategies to destroy your enemies! Careful management of your units, their powers and equipment, as well as clever use of your environment will get you through near-death situations and lead you to epic victory!

Confrontation will be available for PC in Q4 2011.

Event - Les fêtes médiévales de Binche (2024)

Let's be really quick and dirty about this event: ▼ There was was an ice-cold wind, but most of the day it was dry, △ Each time the sun showed itself it was wonderful and we all smiled, △ Got a superb medieval cape that really helped against the wind, △ Great food ( including pancakes! ) and too much mead to taste, △ Überfriendly people ( visitors, reenactors, larpers & vendors.. sorry, I didn't run into anyone of the organisation, n or crew ) △ Excellent location: high upon the ramparts of the old city, △ Parked by accident right behind the corner of the event, △ Free parking, free toilets, and a fountain that will be useful during a future hot edition , △ Music by Skayrish , cannon fire, birds of prey, throwing things ( a bad combination with mead ),.. △ A fun afternoon eventhough it was tiny. . .   Let's provide you a few links: ▷ All photos can always be found on/downloaded from my Flickr and here ! ▷ A " How to download stills from Flickr &

Collab - Verbeke Foundation cosplay day 2024

A few weeks ahead of the first cosplay shoot day of 2024 in the Verbeke Foundation I had wisely estimated that I would run into & make pictures of 10% of all cosplayers. That was a gross misestimation.. I think it's closer to 5%. Every edition organizer Geert seems to double the number of participants. I still don't know how he manages, but kudos for gathering somewhere around 240 participants. Event - Elftopia 2021

The 1st costume event in.. nearly 2 years? You can't believe the ecstasy of opening those tickets in the mail, getting that CovidSafePass in time and hearing that it would not get cancelled as feared ( unlike Castlefest ). Preparing the cameras. Getting ideas for shots. Actually smiling. Thank you Elftopia . However there was a little hick-up. I could blame it on traffic jams making us arrive extremely late.. but it wasn't that. It was exactly as feared and predicted in this post : I didn't dare to make photos. Have I gotten scared of walking up to people for a picture? Have I lost so much self-confidence? Did I stop trusting my technical instincts? Did I start doubting my gear? Haven't I talked to live strangers for that long? Is this what people call a panic attack or anxiety? I guess a bit of all of those. Meade helped a bit. Event - Internationale carnavalsstoet Hasselt

Yes, I know: I had promised to cover only one carnaval's parade per year. But I have a great excuse: a brandnew camera fell into my lap to experiment with and I needed an event for testing. So no, it was neither the free booze, nor the happy people, nor the smoutebollen that lured me to Hasselt.. those are simply perks of working . Just to be clear: that Sony A9III is a magnificent camera with crazy specs. I will probably consider buying the 2nd or 3rd generation of its Global Shutter sensor technology, but for now it's great but not needed for what I shoot. Sports and wildlife shooters are the intended targets and they'll enjoy it greatly.  Hasselt carnaval has a very enjoyable parade wth several international participants & loads of confetti. The 2024 parcours had some very long, straight streets.. perfect to test a huge 300mm f2.8-lens. Thes most excillerating was however something tiny & strictly personal: I really felt good that day and jumped right

Body-Art Festival

In een klein dorpje nabij Mechelen verzamelen zich sinds 2000 ieder jaar opnieuw een keur aan bodypaint- en make-upartiesten voor de laatste grote Europese wedstrijd van het jaar: de felbegeerde Body Artist Award. Op 12 november kan het publiek deze levende kunstwerken bewonderen tijdens het ganse scheppingsproces, zichzelf laten grimeren, deelnemen aan workshops en de mooiste bodypaints vastleggen op de gevoelige plaat. Eigenlijk zijn er zo 4 titels om te verdelen: één voor de mooiste airbrush, één voor het beste spons & penseelwerk, één in de categorie special effects en een laatste voor de mooiste festivalfoto. In elke discipline mogen amateurs, studenten en (semi) pro's zich met elkaar meten. Wees er dus tijdig bij, alvorens deze creaties voor altijd verdwijnen onder een warme douche.
