"Otherworld Miniatures produces a small but rapidly expanding range of fantasy 28mm miniatures for 'old school' roleplayers and wargamers," writes Richard Scott. "Our figures are inspired by the iconic imagery of the early roleplaying games, and cast in both pewter and resin.
Our current ranges include Demons & Devils, Pig-faced Orcs and Giants, with a Dungeon Monsters range soon to include Bugbears, Gargoyles and Trolls. Our future plans include Hobgoblins, Lizardmen, Gnolls, Ogres, a small range of town guards and militia characters, and much more.


Our signature range of Pig-faced Orcs will soon number 25 different figures, including warriors, leaders, and an Orcwife and her brats. These figures were sculpted by the very talented Kevin Adams. Our small range of Giants (Hill, Stone, Frost and Fire) are the work of Paul Muller."

Niet minder dan 25 000 bezoekers lokte de Elf Fantasy Fair vorig jaar naar Kasteel de Haar wat van deze conventie het grootste fantasyevenement van het Europa maakt. Gedurende één weekend veranderen kasteel en landgoed in het magische land Elfië, vol orc's, tovenaars, draken, ridders, vampieren, elfen en eenoorns. It was during a warm November month in the Osaka -region that I finally started appreciating Autumn and the warmth of it's colours .  This year the extreme drought is giving September the first hint of those same colours. A perfect opportunity to visit the famous Japanese garden of Hasselt and reminisce about those days in Nara with the deer strolling through the parks and streets.. except in Hasselt it weren't deer posing for the cameras but cosplayers.  Yes; this was my weekend number 5 in a row with a costume event. Event - Carnavalstoet Tongeren (2026)

Carnaval in Tongeren valt precies altijd samen met dat in Aalst , het grootste carnavalsfeest van het land, en beide vallen ( de afgelopen jaren ) erg vroeg in het carnavalsseizoen.. zodoende dan kan het al eens gebeuren dat er februarisneeuw valt Voor mij was dit echter de 1e sneeuweditie . Sneeuweditie is misschien een groot woord, de echte sneeuwval begon pas tegen dat de laatste paar praalwagens mijn plekje hadden bereikt, maar voor wie ( vee l) verder op het parkoers stond, zal een een groot deel van de stoet tussen de witte vlokken zijn verlopen. In Nederlands Limburg werden stoeten ingekort, stortten feesttenten in en reden praalwagens zich vast in de sneeuw, maar zo'n vaart liep het hier niet.  Al zijn koude en kans op een gevaarlijk glad, ondergesneeuwd wegdek niet de beste vrienden van lang blijven hangen en flink doorzakken . Event - Fantasyfest Rijswijk (2026)

Let me be clear about something: Fantasy Fest is a fantasy themed indoor market featuring some amazing concerts. And the concerts were exactely the reason for travelling on a Saturday to Rijswijk:  Kelten Zonder Grenzen at the opening and Ye Banished Privateers after closing. Just perfect! Obviously there was time in between for a grand tour to visit the neverending rows of stalls ( saying hi to vendors & artists! ), for some mead & for a break to play a TTRPG-demo at Dutch20 . Roleplaying as cats was a nice experience thanks to the DM. Photographing cosplayers? Nah , only a handful. Once you've been there, you know about the lighting situation in De Broodfabriek, eventhough the lights on the stalls are a pretty sight, the rest is Deep Darkness . How do you create this feeling and what sort of techniques are used to provoke this sense of mystery? The story-telling in THEY doesn’t influence the fast paced action of a FPS game – it has dynamic battles, a living environment and those bad creatures you have to kill. But the story has some issues common with plots of mystery movies!
