Confrontation - Executioners


Executioners are monks who lead a double life: scholars by day, assassins by night. This army corps, created by the Empire, is the final resort of Akkylannian diplomacy.

All Executioners are orphans, trained from childhood by scholars and repentant criminals connected to the Emperor. Each dignitary of the Empire is accompanied by one of them - and when the need arises, they join the templars in battle!

Having this kind of historical re-enactment in Tongeren is actually the most logical event possible. Event - Geek Village Open Air (2026)

 Morgen, tijdens de laatste tropische dag van de 5e Limburgse hittegolf deze zomer, opent Geek Village Open Air in kasteel Hex of Heks.. kies zelf maar welke schrijfwijze je leuker vindt. Met de 360° spinner zijn we in open lucht aanwezig, maar niet continue gezien de hitte en omdat we vanop een accu draaien. Normaliter staan we tussen 16-18u op het binnenplein van het kasteel en misschien doorheen de dagen heel kort even op nog enkele verborgen plekjes. UPDATE: Aangezien er enkele internet hiccups waren tijdens de tests, zullen de unedited 360-clips NIET via de cloud te downloaden zijn. Vul hier jouw personage & e-mail in zodat ik vanavond de clip(s) via Swisstransfer doorstuur. Check zeker jouw SPAMBOX indien je niets ziet verschijnen. Het kasteel en de tuinen zijn alvast prachtig en Geek Village heeft na de vorige edities  wat te bewijzen, maar ze zitten vol goeie moed en inzet, dus afwachten maar. How many time did I want to visit Les Festivités annuelles du Fort de Lantin and the Boekenmarkt Tongeren ? Probably every year since just after Covid.. but the wonderful celebration of Castlefest always got in between. But this year, things were different. Almost no events on my Summer calendar due to the focus on opening House of the Red Merlin , a specialty store for TTRPGs, wargames, boardgames, CCG's and some curated novels and both on the Boekenmarkt and in fort de Lantin I was certain to discover some fresh, new, local talent to showcase on the store-shelves.. which I did: Matt Gauthy & Tales by Ruby . Avatar (LARP)

Sinds 6 jaren is Avatar een begrip in de Belgische Life Action RolePlay-wereld. Geen ander LARP-evenement is zo groots opgevat en krijgt zoveel spelers telkens weer op de been voor een weekend in de wereld van de Middeleeuwse Fantasy. Vanuit de verte zou je de kampen van de LARP-facties kunnen verwarren met een kamp van middeleeuwse reënacters, maar reeds de eerste stap tussen de tenten toont je een gans andere wereld. Rode demonen, veelkleurige pixies en schaarsgeklede elfen zwerven tussen de menselijke kampbewoners. Magiërs folteren gevangenen niet zozeer voor informatie, alswel voor het plezier van de pijn. Wapens en harnassen zijn getooid met monsterlijke doodskoppen. Mooie vrouwen kijken bloeddorstig in het rond. Overal lopen gewapende spelers met zwarte kappen over het hoofd als een dreigende sekte. Barbaren rennen wild brullend in het rond. Een echte middeleeuwer zou zich in een nachtmerrie wanen. En eigenlijk zou hij niet eens zo ver van de waarheid zitten. Avatar speelt zich ...

Akumabito Cosplay Day Out-fotosessies

Wat? Letterlijk wat er in de titel staat... Je grijpt een paar cosplayers bij de lurven, sleurt hen van achter de gamesconsole het zonlicht in, hoopt dat ze geen vuur vatten en je maakt er foto's van. Al zal er ditmaal de tijd, de ruimte en de rust om foto's te maken ( zoals voor de Pulp Fantasy Pin-up fotosessies ) ipv conventiesnapshots. Daarom zijn er 4 bijzondere & polyvalente locaties uitgekozen voor de foto's & zorgen wij ook voor een visagiste die jullie onder handen zal nemen. In/bij de locaties kan gepicknicked worden voor wie honger krijgt. Er is overal de mogelijkheid om iets te drinken op een zonovergoten terrasje. We hebben overal reeds ijsjes gezien. Blijf met waterpistolen uit de buurt van de camera of de fotograaf bijt. Hordes, de wilde tweelingbroer van Warmachine.

De Iron Kingdoms zijn nog gevaarlijker geworden. Privateer Press heeft besloten om de monsters die normaal ver weg door de wildernis zwerven te laten samenbrengen tot een onstopbare horde Warbeasts onder de controle van machtige Warlocks . Voor deze nieuwe skirmish wargame heeft Privateer Press gekozen voor een vrij traditionele fantasy-setting. In tegenstelling tot hun bekende Warmachine zijn er hier geen door magie tot leven gewekte mecha’s die voor dood en vernieling zorgen, maar wel titanische trollen met vlijmscherpe slagtanden en met bijlen zwaaiende wolfmensen. Wie de Mechamagische Steampunk-achtergrond van Warmachine niet echt kon pruimen, maar zich perfect kon vinden in de spelregels en kleinschalige schermutselingen, wordt op zijn wenken bediend. Ook al is Hordes een stand-alone spel, de basisregels lopen behoorlijk parallel met die van Warmachine, wat maakt dat als je de ene kent, eveneens de ander kan spelen. Collab - Animating the Imperial Guard (The AI dilemma)

Last Thursday the tiny dirt road I needed to take was blocked by a concrete barricade. I cursed ( several times ) and then I thought: " That's actually a cool barricade for a Warhammer 40k shoot. " So I got out of the car, took a picture and had an even worse idea. It took 2 old urbex pictures from back in 2016 and the new concrete slab cellphone photo plus some Photoshop compositing magic to let Firefly AI finalize this composition into the kind of Space Hulk tunnel I wanted. Then I combined 2 stills from @Kyden_cosplay 's props + Cadian commissar cosplay ( made during @GeekVillagebelgium + @GeeksandFreaksnl ) and noticed I had not photographed his legs, so I added the lower part from a macrophoto of a commissar-miniature I had shot during Trolls-et-Légendes ( Sorry, don't know who painted it ). Dat sommige mensen niet veel nodig hebben om van niets tot iets te komen, bewijst de Canadese George d'Amato in zijn blog. Van een defecte computermuis maakte hij in een wip en een gauw een vervaarlijke tripod die zo uit de film "War of the wolds" lijkt weggelopen. It was during a warm November month in the Osaka -region that I finally started appreciating Autumn and the warmth of it's colours .  This year the extreme drought is giving September the first hint of those same colours. A perfect opportunity to visit the famous Japanese garden of Hasselt and reminisce about those days in Nara with the deer strolling through the parks and streets.. except in Hasselt it weren't deer posing for the cameras but cosplayers.  Yes; this was my weekend number 5 in a row with a costume event.
