New Star Wars PocketModel Booster Pack to Add Ground Units, Including AT-AT and Spider Droid

August 16, 2007 (Bellevue, WA) — WizKids Inc., a subsidiary of Topps and the creator of runaway hit games such as HeroClix and Pirates of the Spanish Main, today announced it will be releasing this fall the next installment of its Star Wars PocketModel Trading Card Game (TCG) – Ground Assault. This new Star Wars booster pack enhances Star Wars PocketModels game play by adding new ground and space PocketModel units from the Star Wars movies, and a host of new playing cards. The original Star Wars PocketModel game sets were released in mid-June, and already hundreds of thousands of game packs have been sold worldwide.

With the Ground Assault booster pack, players can now build their Star Wars fleet with all-ground units, all-space units, or a mix of the two types. Each pack features up to eight new PocketModels of both ground units and new space units, as well as six all-new game cards. The premier ground unit of the set is the AT-AT, the elite imperial fighting unit featured in the Empire Strikes Back movie. The Ground Assault set also features a heavy battle droid theme, with the Spider droid and Tank droid units included in the selection. The set's new playing cards include a number of new characters, including several featuring one of the galaxies most elite fighting forces, the Ewoks, as well as new versions of favorites like Darth Vader, Yoda, and Obi-Wan.

Star Wars PocketModel TCG revolutionized the collectible trading card genre by bringing card games into the third dimension. The Star Wars PocketModel TCG lets Star Wars fans enjoy a complete Star Wars experience as they are able to collect and build Star Wars vehicles that are played in entertaining ways with cards featuring favorite characters, vehicles and scenes from the entire Star Wars saga. Players use the cards to control their fleets of PocketModel ships as they attempt to destroy each other's objectives.

Like the first in the series, the Star Wars PocketModels Ground Assault boosters packs are a great value with a price tag of $4.99 USD. In each pack, players receive between four-to-eight PocketModels vehicles to punch out, build, collect and play; six random game cards; 2 micro-dice; complete rules and assembly instructions. This fun, easy-to-learn game is simple enough for 8-year-old kids, but features enough depth of strategy to appeal to adults, making it possible for fans of all generations to share and enjoy battling for control of the galaxy! Collab - Verbeke Foundation cosplay day 2024

A few weeks ahead of the first cosplay shoot day of 2024 in the Verbeke Foundation I had wisely estimated that I would run into & make pictures of 10% of all cosplayers. That was a gross misestimation.. I think it's closer to 5%. Every edition organizer Geert seems to double the number of participants. I still don't know how he manages, but kudos for gathering somewhere around 240 participants. Event - Elftopia 2021

The 1st costume event in.. nearly 2 years? You can't believe the ecstasy of opening those tickets in the mail, getting that CovidSafePass in time and hearing that it would not get cancelled as feared ( unlike Castlefest ). Preparing the cameras. Getting ideas for shots. Actually smiling. Thank you Elftopia . However there was a little hick-up. I could blame it on traffic jams making us arrive extremely late.. but it wasn't that. It was exactly as feared and predicted in this post : I didn't dare to make photos. Have I gotten scared of walking up to people for a picture? Have I lost so much self-confidence? Did I stop trusting my technical instincts? Did I start doubting my gear? Haven't I talked to live strangers for that long? Is this what people call a panic attack or anxiety? I guess a bit of all of those. Meade helped a bit. Event - Internationale carnavalsstoet Hasselt

Yes, I know: I had promised to cover only one carnaval's parade per year. But I have a great excuse: a brandnew camera fell into my lap to experiment with and I needed an event for testing. So no, it was neither the free booze, nor the happy people, nor the smoutebollen that lured me to Hasselt.. those are simply perks of working . Just to be clear: that Sony A9III is a magnificent camera with crazy specs. I will probably consider buying the 2nd or 3rd generation of its Global Shutter sensor technology, but for now it's great but not needed for what I shoot. Sports and wildlife shooters are the intended targets and they'll enjoy it greatly.  Hasselt carnaval has a very enjoyable parade wth several international participants & loads of confetti. The 2024 parcours had some very long, straight streets.. perfect to test a huge 300mm f2.8-lens. Thes most excillerating was however something tiny & strictly personal: I really felt good that day and jumped right

Body-Art Festival

In een klein dorpje nabij Mechelen verzamelen zich sinds 2000 ieder jaar opnieuw een keur aan bodypaint- en make-upartiesten voor de laatste grote Europese wedstrijd van het jaar: de felbegeerde Body Artist Award. Op 12 november kan het publiek deze levende kunstwerken bewonderen tijdens het ganse scheppingsproces, zichzelf laten grimeren, deelnemen aan workshops en de mooiste bodypaints vastleggen op de gevoelige plaat. Eigenlijk zijn er zo 4 titels om te verdelen: één voor de mooiste airbrush, één voor het beste spons & penseelwerk, één in de categorie special effects en een laatste voor de mooiste festivalfoto. In elke discipline mogen amateurs, studenten en (semi) pro's zich met elkaar meten. Wees er dus tijdig bij, alvorens deze creaties voor altijd verdwijnen onder een warme douche. The life & death of costumes

Veel mensen lijden een grijs bestaan. Ze zijn kleurloos, onopvallend en komen nooit dichter bij het beleven van hun fantasie dan onderuitgezakt met een zak chips naar Temptation Island staren. Er bestaan echter ook groepen mensen die proberen te ontsnappen aan die alledaagse grijsheid van het bestaan en die de kleuren, actie en Schwung van het fantasiebestaan proberen te integreren in de " echte " wereld. Dit zijn de mensen die je soms in kostuums kan zien rondlopen tijdens reënactment, larp en cosplay. Het begint meer en meer een trend te worden, ook in ons eigen Belgenland. Aztek-TV zal in de volgende maanden dan ook verschillende reportages wijden aan deze buitenbeentjes. Maar laat ons eerst enkele definities voorstellen die een onderscheid maken tussen de essentie van larp, cosplay en reënactment:    Larp: De nadruk ligt op het consequent invullen van een rol.
