Met de tentoonstelling "Anime! High Art Pop culture." in het Gentse Caermersklooster duikt het filmfestival van Gent vanaf 9 oktober in de wereld van de Japanse animatiefilm.

Event - Casanova Danst in Alden Biesen

Ook in 2025 organiseerde de Landcommanderij Alden Biesen een gemaskerd bal. Ditmaal stond de Soirée Masquée helemaal in het teken van Giacomo Casanova en de Rococo . Denk aan krullende pruiken, kniekousen, baljurken die bigger than life zijn en al die aandacht voor details waar de adel uit 1750 voor bekend stond. En geloof me vrij: sommige kostuums en looks waren adembenemend. Event - Carnevale di Venezia in Bruges

Every February Bruges may officially name itself The Venice of the North for another reason than the Reien (= city canals ) & the bowbridges who vaguely resemble the sinking Italian city-state. For one day the masked elegance of the carnaval parade takes over the streets. Not a carnaval like it is usually celebrated in the Lowlands, but a Venetian style citywalk. Is it pretty to behold? Absolutely. On top of that, this year the weather changed into a bright sunny weekend after 14 months of gloom & rain. Even better! Still this might have been my last visit to the event because it has become simply too crowded with dozens of photographers, entire photoclubs & a tenfold thereof in pushy cellphonographers. So I shot only a few stills, am - as usual - only satisfied by a handful - but that's typically me - and had that crazy Geert not stopped me, I would have walked away after only 1/3rd of those shots. Event - Geek Village Genk (2024)

A heads-up: on November 17th 2024 we'll be hosting a videobooth on Geek Village ( Thor Central, Genk ) in room 12 ( named Trovao ). It will be the 1st time we put the 360° videobooth on a fair.. so it's somewhere between in between scary & exciting. Since it's the 1st time and we have a full room at our disposal, we might set up a small photobooth aswel as a free bonus for our clients. Come visit us! Collab - Steampunk explorers of the Unknown

During the shooting day at the Verbeke Foundation last month I got a quick glimpse of this soon-to-be-married steampunk couple. And BAM here they are again! I blame it on Geert who keeps on bringing cosplayers & photographers together. I still had an idea to shoot with them from last time at this location. Geeks & Freaks is a new brainchild from the team behind El Mundo Fantasia and loads of Halloween events. This is the 1st edition and I must admit that the foyer of MECC Maastricht is a nice location for an indoor avent. Event Report Probleem

Bericht aan iedereen & vooral aan de organisatoren met wie was afgesproken dat er een fotoreportage op hun evenement zou worden gemaakt. De volgende 6 weken zullen er beduidend minder reportages gemaakt kunnen worden omdat onze fotograaf van de tenen tot aan de knie met zijn rechterbeen in het gips zit. Hij zal dus niet overal kunnen geraken. Onze excuses hiervoor. Sh*t happens.

Shadowforge

In het verre Australië ontdekten we de miniaturenmakers van Shadowforge die zich reeds jaren specialiseren in vrouwelijke strijdsters. All girl Bloodbowl-teams met nonnen, Dark Elves ( Wicked Elves ), Playboy Bunnies en half-Orkinnen. Jongedames uit manga's & anime's. Cowgirls. Een squad vrouwelijke marines. Barbaarse strijdsters, centauren, gladiatoren, sm/fetish elfen, dryades, vampiers, wolfriders, monsterjagers, vikingkrijgers... allemaal van het "zwakke" geslacht. Maar het meest getroffen waren we door de Dark Temple-reeks. Bewaaksters, Praetorianen, troepen met slingers en bogen en priesters, allemaal in de stijl van Griekse hoplieten. In de loop van 2007 voorzien ze bij Shadowforge nog een prachtige reeks Vestaalse maagden. Deze Dark Temple Guard Vestals zien er uit om op te eten met hun helmen die een combinatie lijken tussen de Griekse hoplietenhelmen en Romeinse gladiatorenmaskers. Akumabito Cosplay Day Out-fotosessies

Wat? Letterlijk wat er in de titel staat... Je grijpt een paar cosplayers bij de lurven, sleurt hen van achter de gamesconsole het zonlicht in, hoopt dat ze geen vuur vatten en je maakt er foto's van. Al zal er ditmaal de tijd, de ruimte en de rust om foto's te maken ( zoals voor de Pulp Fantasy Pin-up fotosessies ) ipv conventiesnapshots. Daarom zijn er 4 bijzondere & polyvalente locaties uitgekozen voor de foto's & zorgen wij ook voor een visagiste die jullie onder handen zal nemen. In/bij de locaties kan gepicknicked worden voor wie honger krijgt. Er is overal de mogelijkheid om iets te drinken op een zonovergoten terrasje. We hebben overal reeds ijsjes gezien. Blijf met waterpistolen uit de buurt van de camera of de fotograaf bijt.
