Fleet Landing Party for Starship Troopers.


This squad is representative of the security and exploratory forces used by the mighty Fleet when the Mobile Infantry have better things to do. They are used to police the cruisers of the Fleet (and no doubt keep any MI on board in line during long voyages to the war zone), and will be the first to leave drop ships when landing in hostile territory.

They are only available via the Mongoose website!

Lang geleden dat er nog een publiek genre-evenement werd gedaan.  Ben druk bezig geweest aan nieuwe webpagina's voor Deep Red Noise vzw en Red Cathedral en tegelijk volop plannen aan het uitwerken voor een niche winkelproject genaamd House of the Red Merlin . Wat voor soort winkel zou dat kunnen worden? Toch even het hoofd buiten gestoken - tussen de regenbuien door - voor een reënactors kampement dat me al jaren nauw aan het hart ligt: De Quaeye Werelt 1477 in het Antwerpse Rivierenhof. 1477 was een belangrijk jaar voor België en de Bourgondische Nederlanden. It was during a warm November month in the Osaka -region that I finally started appreciating Autumn and the warmth of it's colours .  This year the extreme drought is giving September the first hint of those same colours. A perfect opportunity to visit the famous Japanese garden of Hasselt and reminisce about those days in Nara with the deer strolling through the parks and streets.. except in Hasselt it weren't deer posing for the cameras but cosplayers.  Yes; this was my weekend number 5 in a row with a costume event. Event - Fantasyfest Rijswijk (2026)

Let me be clear about something: Fantasy Fest is a fantasy themed indoor market featuring some amazing concerts. And the concerts were exactely the reason for travelling on a Saturday to Rijswijk:  Kelten Zonder Grenzen at the opening and Ye Banished Privateers after closing. Just perfect! Obviously there was time in between for a grand tour to visit the neverending rows of stalls ( saying hi to vendors & artists! ), for some mead & for a break to play a TTRPG-demo at Dutch20 . Roleplaying as cats was a nice experience thanks to the DM. Photographing cosplayers? Nah , only a handful. Once you've been there, you know about the lighting situation in De Broodfabriek, eventhough the lights on the stalls are a pretty sight, the rest is Deep Darkness . Collab - Verbeke Cosplay Day (2026)

Allow me to sum up a few ingredients that make several ( outdoors ) costume events very enjoyable: No rain + casual strolls through a gorgeous location + drinks with nice people + casually making a photo of a splendid or funny or catchy constume + decent food + things to do/see + musical (re)discoveries + some more wine, whisky, or mead. The annual cosplay day at the Verbeke Foundation , one of the strangest ( yet fascinating ) musea in Belgium, had yet again many of those ingredients in its recipe. Ook in 2025 organiseerde de Landcommanderij Alden Biesen een gemaskerd bal. Ditmaal stond de Soirée Masquée helemaal in het teken van Giacomo Casanova en de Rococo . Denk aan krullende pruiken, kniekousen, baljurken die bigger than life zijn en al die aandacht voor details waar de adel uit 1750 voor bekend stond. En geloof me vrij: sommige kostuums en looks waren adembenemend. Na België, Nederland, Frankrijk en Duitsland trekt Aztek-TV nu ook naar the UK voor een genreconventie... en wat voor één.
